Outdoor Tournament Information
Tournaments are sanctioned by the AVPNext. AVPNext is the official developmental program for the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. It sanctions a wide variety of outdoor volleyball tournaments, recreational leagues and instructional camps/clinics for all ages and abilities throughout the United States. AVPNext represents the nation's largest network of outdoor amateur volleyball associations and tournaments in North America.
HVBA outdoor tournament registration requires annual AVPNext membership (registration information below) and the tournament registration fee (which is typically $15 per player). Registration for tournaments begins at 8:00am with play starting around 9:00am.

Unless otherwise noted on the schedule, anyone playing in an HVBA outdoor tournament must be an active member of the AVPNext. AVPNext membership is $10 per year if registering online. Your membership number and discount codes will be emailed to you following your online registration. When you receive your membership email, please print it out and bring it with you to all AVPNext events.
Unless otherwise noted on the schedule:
- The Grass Tournaments will be held at the Kiwanis Soccer Field at the corner of Bob Wallace and Jordan Lane in Huntsville. Pool play format to be used, 4 team pools play 2 to 11, 5 team + pools play 1 to 11. See the Locations map for your drive in.
- The Sand Tournaments will be held at the Huntsville City Sand Courts in Brahan Spring Park. Court-size will be based on the format (AVP-size for 2-person). See the Locations map for your drive in.
- Tournaments will be played by AVPNext rules.
- Each division must have at least four teams in order to exist in the tournament.
- Prizes will be awarded to the first and second place teams in pools of five or more teams. (4 team pools - first place prize only), except where noted.
- Sign-in for all tournaments will begin at 8:00a.m., captains meeting at 8:30a.m., with play starting at 9:00a.m.
- Triples tournaments must have teams of three people (two person teams will not be allowed).
